Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the stray cats and dogs control unit of the Animal Resources Department, in cooperation with the Forensic

Evidence and Information Department, launched a joint campaign under the slogan “Refq”, which aims to put stray dogs in an animal shelter that was specially established by the ministry.

“These shelters meet all the requirements of laws and conditions for animal welfare and through which medical care, nutrition, water and vaccinations will be provided to these dogs and will rehabilitate them according to animal welfare law,” a statement said.

In the next phase of this campaign, after completing the works in the permanent animal shelter in Rawdat Al Faras, the "Refq" campaign aims to act on all reports of stray dogs and cats throughout the country and deal with them according to the established mechanism and as per animal health requirements for dealing with stray animals.

It will be made sure they are provided healthcare and nutrition and don’t have diseases before they are rehabilitated.

The shelter is being prepared to receive large numbers of stray dogs and cats from the streets throughout the country, with the aim of providing nutrition and health care to these animals and rehabilitating them.
