Kulinarya Qatar, a community-led Filipino food movement, is all set to organise a health and fitness-themed programme expected to draw hundreds of Filipinos on National Sport Day at the City Centre Rotana Doha. This is the first time the Philippine embassy-initiated brand and movement is organizing an event to coincide with National Sports Day.
Dubbed “Be Fit with Kulinarya Qatar,” the event will see the participation of nearly 20 restaurants and health and fitness companies on a day packed with sports and fitness activities.
Kicking off the day will be a fun walk at 7am followed by ribbon cutting ceremony to be led by Philippine Embassy officials including Charge d’ Affaires Roussel Reyes and Cultural Attaché John Jiao along with City Centre Rotana Doha officials Martin Kendall, General Manager; Vikram Jamwal, Resident Manager and Mohamed Saeed, Events Director.
The programme is filled with various sports activities will be held such as a demonstration of Sepak Takraw - a traditional sport of kick volleyball popular in Southeast Asia, aerobics, kick boxing, dance sport and mixed martial arts among others.
Live entertainment will be a major element of the programme with performances by Filipino dance groups and artistes including the Beats and Bytes Dancers The New Breed, Diversity Dance Crew, ER Force, Tanghalang Overseas Pinoy (TOPi), Maharlikans Vocal Ensemble, MusikHero, Viral Acoustic Band and REW Akustikz.
A unique performance by students of Messaied International School through the leadership of the Messaied Filipino community will feature at the event.
There will also be a cooking show to be presented by cook masters from Saladmaster Health Technology which will demonstrate its healthy cooking products and healthy cooking techniques.
The free event will be hosted at Almas Ballroom at City Centre Rotana Doha from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday.
