Kingdom of Snakes to be staged in Doha

AlGhad For Dramatic Arts (ADA), under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, will stage a play Kingdom of Snakes at the forthcoming Spring Festival starting from January 20 at Souq Waqif.
The play will be staged at Al- Rayan Theater and will continue for 14 days. “It is a fantasy love story about a princess who lives in downtown and gets kidnapped by the villain. At the end, the hero comes and rescues the princess, and as a reward the king gets this hero married to the young and beautiful princess,” said Khalid A Al-Zeyara, writer of the play and General Secretary of ADA.
Kalamandalam Sini, Indian Choreographer, told The Peninsula: “We as a team are excited to perform in this drama representing Abhinaya School. My team members are Usman Marath, Ameer K Mohammad and Azeez Marath.”
Muhammad Al-Balam, Director of Play and Chairman of ADA said: “Funds for the production of this theater are given by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, sponsors and from the tickets sold to audience. This is a gift for children and families in the spring festival at Souq waqif.”
Kingdom of Snakes play includes songs, scenes review and we have invited entertainers from India, they will also participate during the festival,” he further noted.
Abdullah Al-Kawari, Costume Designer of the play told the media: “ The tickets of the show will be available at Souq Waqif; VIP tickets for QR250 and regular for QR100 and QR70.”
