Officers Training Institute graduates students of basic courses

Doha: The Officers Training Institute of the Armed Forces College and Institutes celebrated the graduation of 135 officers and members of various branches of the armed forces and other military authorities in the country and sisterly countries, at the end of the basic courses for the first half of the 2018/2019 training year.

The ceremony, which was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, was attended by  Chairman of the Colleges and Institutes Authority, Major General Hamad bin Ahmed Al Nuaimi; Kuwaiti Military Attache, Brigadier General Huwaidi Sahn Al Hajri,  as well as a number of senior  officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.

The graduates included 19 junior officers No. (31) and 14 officers of the advanced infantry course No. (27), 14 officers of the advanced management and supply No. (6), and 25 officers of the course No. (41), where the number of graduates in the basic courses of the Institute 72 officers of the armed forces and other military authorities in the State, in addition to two officers from the State of Kuwait, and 63  officers in short courses in the Institute during the period mentioned.

The activities of the courses referred to have been concluded by the implementation of the (Saqr Al Jazira) exercise (4) in the sisterly Republic of Sudan.

On the occasion, Brigadier Faisal Mohammed Al Ouja, the Commander of the Officers Training Institute, revealed that the officers during the courses received training and education from theoretical to practical through the exercises in the classrooms.

For his part, Colonel Jaber Rashid Al Khayarin, Director of Exercise, stressed that the Saqr Al Jazira Exercise (4) is concerned with training the officers of the courses on the procedures of combat, opening up and commanding the forces in the various tactical operations. It aims to adapt to the different environments and exercise command and control of the forces, in the battle procedures and openness.
