Action from the Amir Cup Table Tennis Championship, yesterday
Qatar SC and Al Khor yesterday reached the semi-finals of the Amir’s Cup Table Tennis Championship. Qatar SC qualified for the semi-finals after finishing at the top of Group A following an easy 3-0 win over Al Gharafa yesterday.
After yesterday’s win, defending champions Qatar SC remain on course for a hat-trick of titles having won in the last two years.
Al Khor, yesterday succeeded in qualifying for the semi-finals after finishing the group stage in the second spot following their 3-1 win over Al Ahli.
The semi-final matches will be held tomorrow at Qatar Sports Club Hall, while the third and fourth place match will be held on Sunday.
The tournament will end with the final match being held on October 12, at 6:00pm. Yesterday’s first clash was officiated by referees Saeed Abdullah Al Kathiri, Jamil Muhammad Muslim and Ali Abdel Moneim Nadi, and was watched by Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, Secretary General of the Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA).
The second match that brought together Al Khor and Al Ahli, was moderated by referees Jamal Mahfouz Al Najjar, Muhammad Fawzi Al Sayed, and General Referee Ali Abdel Moneim Nadi.
The matches were held at the Preparation and Training Center in Ras Abu Aboud with strict health and safety protocols implemented by the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and QTTA under the Ministry of Public Health guidelines.
