Mesaimeer centre to provide govt services

DOHA: Services of various ministries will now be available under one umbrella, with the first “government services complex” opening in Mesaimeer yesterday.

The facility functions at the Ministry of Interior’s Mesaimeer Services Center.

In the first phase, the new complex will offer services of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Administrative Development.

Minister of Administrative Development H E Dr Eissa Saad Al Nuaimi said that a number of government services complexes will be opened in the near future in the country. Two such complexes will open in Zubara and Umm Salal next month.

“The Ministry of Administrative Development will manage these complexes and it is coordinating with the authorities to find locations for service complexes in other areas of the country”, Al Nuaimi said.

He added that, later all government services will be delivered through these complexes. He welcomed suggestions and comments from the public to be sent at: [email protected].

He said the complex at Mesaimeer has been completed with full support and cooperation of the Ministry of Interior as it has expertise in operating unified services centres in different parts of the country.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs will provide the services of National Manpower Department, Social Security Dept, Housing Dept, Department of the Elderly and the Disabled at the new complex.

The Ministry of Justice will provide services of its real estate registration and attestation department in the first phase and later all the services of the Ministry will be available.

The public can avail of the services of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning such as requests for cutting trees, issues related to drainages and rain waters, complaints on labour accommodations in family residential areas and abandoned vehicles.

The Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Minister of Justice H E Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr Al Muhannadi, the Minister of Administrative Development H E Dr Eisa Saad Al Jaffali Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Abdullah Salih Mubarak Al Khulaifi and the Director General of the General Directorate of Borders Passports and Expatriates Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Brig. Abdullah Salem Al Ali were present at the opening ceremony. The Peninsula
