Qatari women’s rugby team will participate in the Asia Seven’s Trophy to begin in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 10.
The competition is expected to be quite tough as the winners will secure a spot in the elite sevens competition - the Asia Rugby Sevens Series.
The Head of the mission, Hamad Al Abdulla said the team trained hard for two months at an indoor FIFA 2022 World Cup pitch provided by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
The aim is to do well in the Asian championship, he added. “We’ve been playing for some time now and we’ve been competing against some tough teams.”
