DOHA: KPMG in Qatar is helping 15 new interns increase professional experiences and have insights into the working world through its long-running internship programme.
Jamal Fahkro, Managing Partner of the firm, said, “It’s great that we are able to bring young, talented people into the practice through our internship programme.
“Within KPMG, we have a wealth of experienced, knowledgeable staff who enjoy guiding and coaching interns and sharing perceptions of the professional world. It is also beneficial for our staff to work with young people exposed to latest business teaching and often come with new ideas or approaches.”
The interns from Qatar and other countries, including Australia, Yemen, Palestine, India and Lebanon, have been assigned to KPMG’s audit, tax or advisory departments depending on their skills and experiences.
They will be given a mentor and performance manager to guide them through their time with KPMG.
Kaavya Chinniah of Anna University, Chennai, India, said, “It is a great opportunity for me to be an intern with KPMG in Qatar.
“I have gained valuable insight and knowledge about the industry and had an opportunity to work on several projects.
“I thoroughly enjoy working with such a great team of people and learning from my fellow colleagues.”
