LYON, France: Argentine striker Lisandro Lopez is joining Qatari club Al Gharafa from Olympique Lyon, the Ligue 1 club said yesterday.
“OL inform they have accepted the demand made to club president Jean-Michel Aulas at the end of May, then again in July, by Lisandro Lopez to leave the club for personal reasons during the current transfer period,” read a statement posted on Lyon’s website.
“Lisandro was therefore allowed to go to Qatar last night (Wednesday) where he will finalise the terms over a potential contract with Al Gharafa,” it added. The 30-year-old has scored 82 goals in 167 games for Lyon since his arrival from Porto in 2009.
