Amir mourns death of former Japan PM Abe

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent yesterday cables of condolences to HM Emperor Naruhito of Japan and HE Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. 
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also sent a cable of condolences to HE Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Meanwhile, the State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe after shooting him during a speech in the western city of Nara, considering it a heinous crime.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the position of the State of Qatar rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons.
The statement said that the State of Qatar recalls with pride and appreciation the positions of the deceased, who was a loyal friend and supporter of the close relations between the two countries, expressing its condolences to the friendly government and people of Japan, and the family of the deceased.
