Doha, Qatar: In its ongoing efforts to promote communication and religious awareness among non-Arabic-speaking Muslim communities, the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center organized Eid Al-Adha sermons in multiple languages, including English, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali, and Indonesian, with live translations provided in Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Bengali across various locations throughout the country.

The initiative attracted nearly 10,000 worshippers on the first day of Eid.

The activities were distributed across seven main programmes, with Eid sermons delivered in English at Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid AlMahmopud Islamic Cultural Center mosque, in Indonesian at Tariq Bin Ziyad School, in Tamil at the Sri Lankan School, in Bengali at the Bangladeshi School, and in Urdu at the Cricket Ground.

In addition, real-time translations of the Eid sermon were offered in Tamil at Mosque No. 65 Mosque of Islamel Ali Al Emady in Bin Mahmoud, and in Malayalam at several key locations, including Mosque No. 116 Aishah Mohammad Al Swaidy Mosque, Eid prayer grounds in Al Wakrah and Old Airport, Madinatuna Mosque (Building No. 10), the Al Wakrah Club Eid prayer area, the Al Arabi Club Eid prayer area, and Mosque No. 862 Moneerah Sultan Al Swaidy in Dafna.

The center aims through these initiatives to make Eid sermons more accessible to non-Arabic-speaking Muslims, ensuring they can fully understand and benefit from the spiritual messages delivered. It also encourages questions and dialogue on religious matters relevant to their communities.

It is worth noting that the center offers Friday sermon translations in these languages throughout the year, benefitting tens of thousands of worshippers regularly.
