DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) is proud to be the official airline sponsor of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) celebrations, which recognise the most talented actors within the popular Indian film fraternity.
The 17th edition of the awards, which honour excellence in Indian cinema across a global stage, will take place in Madrid from June 23 to 27. QA is offering an exclusive promotion for those travelling to Madrid to attend IIFA 2016. Special promotional discounts will be offered on flights booked before June 26 for a travel period until July 6. Passengers can benefit from it by making bookings through qatarairways.com/iifa2016-es and entering the promotional code ‘MADIIFA16’.
QA’s global network of over 150 destinations in six continents puts Madrid and IIFA within easy reach for film fans and travellers from around the globe. The ceremony will be attended by Indian and international movie legends, guests and dignitaries from India and the world’s media.
Jonathan Harding, Senior Vice-President Europe, QA, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with IIFA to promote the event around the world to every destination we serve. This partnership reflects our core brand value of ‘Going Places Together’.
“The popularity of Indian cinema has grown exponentially over the years, reflected in the scale and extravaganza of IIFA awards. As one of the fastest growing global airlines operating two flights a day to Madrid and connecting to over 150 destinations, QA is well-positioned to offer its award-winning services to those attending IIFA awards.”
Madrid and IIFA 2016 are getting ready to present guests with an incredible combination of India and Spain — two of the world’s most richly diverse countries and cultures.
Bollywood stars Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor will host the awards, which will also feature performances by stars Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and Tiger Shroff. QA connects 13 destinations in India to Madrid via Doha and offers seamless connecting flights from countries with large Indian communities such as the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Singapore, Malaysia, the US, the UK, Canada, South Africa and Australia.
Passengers travelling to Madrid will enjoy a quick and convenient transfer at Hamad International Airport (HIA), one of the world’s top 10 best airports. Within HIA, Qatar Duty Free offers one of the most diverse travel retail and dining options available globally, combined with unique services such as an airport hotel, swimming pool and spa.
