MES conducts inter-school competitions in Islamic quiz

Doha: To raise the overall standards of recitation amongst the Islamic students and to encourage Islamic students in memorizing the holy Quran and to increase the acquaintance with the holy Quran, the Department of Arabic & Islamic studies of MES Indian School organized a virtual inter-school competitions in Islamic Quiz, Quran recitation & Memorization on April 23 and 30  2021 for the students. 

The competitions were conducted in three categories, sub-junior, junior and seniors for both boys and girls. Around 500 students from Classes 1 to 12 participated in these competitions. The topics for the Quiz competitions were ‘The Holy Qur’an, Ramadan and culture & Civilization of Qatar and for the Holy Quran competition juz’u 30 for sub-juniors, juz’u 28 & 29 for juniors and Surah Yaseen, Al Kahf, Al Mu’minoon Sajada and Al Furqan for seniors.  The following students are the winners of competitions. In the sub-junior Quran Memorization category, Fathima Abdul Gafoor secured the first position, Saad Muaaz and Abdullah Hassan Miya Tandal shared the second position and Manha Mariam stood third. In the sub-junior Quran Recitation category, Manha Mariam, Nimra Fathima and Abdullah Hassan Miya Tandal secured first, second and third categories respectively. In the sub-junior category of Quran Memorization, Minnah Nowshad, Daniya Farooqui and Ahmed Sajid won first, second and third categories respectively. In the sub-junior Quran Recitation category, Aasim Ismayil, Minnah Nowshad and Abdullah Mohammad Sajid clinched the first, second and third categories respectively. 

In the junior category of Quran Memorization, Muhammed Patel, Zainab Mohammed Rafi and AmanIskander secured first, second and third categories respectively. In the senior Quran Memorization contest, Durra Mohamed Rafi secured the first position followed by Fathima Hiba and Amatun Noor for the second and third positions respectively.  The school principal congratulated the winners for their achievements. Usman Mayyeri, Head of Arabic and Islamic Studies of the school coordinated the competitions along with the members of the faculty.
