Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB), exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus, successfully concluded the first AAB Treasure Hunt in collaboration with the Public Parks Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (PPD-MME).
AAB Treasure Hunt is a CSR initiative promoting public parks in Qatar while reminding the participants to observe road safety practices. It is not a race but a matter of managing time while completing the Park Challenges such as solving riddles/puzzles, performing tasks or activities and looking for “treasures” at the parks.
To date, the Ministry has renovated existing parks and added new locations across Qatar. These parks serve as a family hub providing ample space for families to enjoy nature as well as for children to have safe play areas. Out of the 87 renovated and new parks across Qatar, five were visited by the participating teams. They cruised safely from Al Wakrah, Al Thumama Family (South) Park, Oneizah Park, Dahl Al Hamam until Al Khor before heading back to Al Abdulghani Tower for the final challenge.
Al Khor Park quickly became the most favorite park among participants taking into account the space, new facilities and mini-zoo. Many of the participants commented that they have just discovered the beauty of these parks and will visit them in future.
Serdar Toktamis, AAB’s Chief Executive Officer sent off the first batch of participants at the start of the Treasure Hunt. Meanwhile, present with him during the awarding ceremony was Mohammed Al Khouri — Director of Public Parks Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Prior to the announcement of the winners, results were verified by an independent internal audit party.
The champion of the first AAB Treasure Hunt received a cash prize of QR5,000, a trophy and other gifts. Meanwhile, the 1st runner-up won QR3,000 and a trophy. The 2nd runner-up won QR1,500 and a trophy.
The participating teams said that it was a great day for bonding between family and friends where they got to learn about each other better and explained that teamwork made a difference. This is significant to AAB because team work is one of its corporate values in creating a successful working culture.
Working towards a green environment is one of the CSR pillars for AAB. This is the primary reason behind AAB’S close collaboration with the Public Parks Department and the Ministry.
AAB Treasure Hunt, the first-of-its-kind in Qatar truly blazed the trail for an innovative CSR initiative instilling the value of caring for the environment and at the same time creating a fun atmosphere while appreciating nature and the facilities built around it. Road safety issues were also emphasised and were observed by the participants.
AAB is committed to building and developing sustainable communities through its CSR initiatives that promote and support Qatar National Vision 2030.
