QRF to host Qatar Rugby Sevens finals today
Action from last Saturday’s match of Qatar Rugby Sevens Championship League at Aspire.


Doha: The finals series of Qatar Rugby Federation’s (QRF) Qatar Rugby Sevens Championship League will be played today at the Aspire Warm Up Track in Doha. 
The finals will showcase seven teams in six matches; each match lasting only 14 minutes, comprising two halves. The first match of the Inaugural league kicked off on February 6 as part of a move to widen the appeal of what is becoming one of the world’s most popular sports. 
With its induction into the Rio Olympics later this year Rugby (2015) was rated the third most watched sport worldwide just behind FIFA and the Summer Olympics.
Today, after eight weeks of exhilarating action seven teams will battle for Rugby Supremacy. 
Camels 1 have claimed the minor premiership title with their undefeated rankings but can they win the Championship Cup?
The fixture will start at 6pm with the quarter-finals between Hurricanes and Al Khor, while Camels 2 will lock horns with Lions. 
The winners of these matches will meet each other in a play-off and for a chance to challenge Camels 1 and earn the title “2016 - Qatar Rugby Sevens Champions”
The losers will be relegated to the Plate finals while CAN-Q and the Blue Falcons have already booked themselves a Bowl final.
Today’s finals fever formalities will attract VIP’s and dignitaries including H E Minister of Energy & Industry - Dr Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, President Aspire Zone Foundation, Hilal Al Kuwar, the General Manager of Katara, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Sulaiti, Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed bin Tawar Al Kuwari, CEO Eng. Qatar Fuel Woqod,  Ibrahim Al Kuwari, the Events Manager Aspire Foundation Zone, Abdullah Al Khater, media channels  Al Kass news, and Al Rayyan TV.  
The event will also be attended by sponsors, spectators, families and friends.  
The evening will provide entertainment and side attractions including gifts and giveaways.
