Ooredoo and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will support the launch of an advanced mobile and digital solution to enhance the level of care and convenience for patients in Qatar.
The agreement will make way to develop a Remote Care service as part of HMC’s leadership in implementing the recommendations of the Ministry Of Public Health’s ‘National Continuing Care Design Strategy’. It was unveiled yesterday at the QITCOM event taking place in Doha.
Remote Care service is the first of its kind in the region, will be designed to deliver home care for patients requiring monitoring and support, as well as proactive care and support for patient independence.
The agreement was signed by Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar and Mahmoud Al Raisi, Chief of Continuing Care at HMC.
Remote Care services will enable patients to access the care they need from their homes. It will be particularly useful for people suffering from non-commutable conditions, patients who need long-term condition management, or people undergoing rehabilitation post discharge. By reducing the need to travel to hospital and enabling patients to stay at home with their families, Remote Care Services will boost quality of care and quality of life.
The Remote Care solution will be powered by Ooredoo’s Supernet network and will be designed to support HMC’s Home Care and Community Services Department.
Al Kubaisi, said, “Working with HMC, we are developing an important new smart service that will enhance the standards of long-term care for patients in Qatar. Al Raisi commented on the importance of the partnership between HMC and Ooredoo to enhance standards of care for patients receiving care at home in Qatar.
He said, “HMC is on an ongoing journey to continually develop and improve the services we offer to provide the best possible care. Our patients are at the centre of everything we do and our partnership with Ooredoo to develop Remote Care services will enable our facilities, clinical teams and patients to share information and communicate remotely with one another, which will bring us even closer together.”
By helping to launch Remote Care service , Ooredoo hopes to contribute to the Qatar 2030 National Vision of human development.
