Mouawad, a privately held Swiss and Emirati fashion accessories company, has launched its ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative in Qatar. The initiative in collaboration with Qatar Charity, is an attempt to enhance humanitarian partnerships between the two organisations by supporting underprivileged children in Qatar through the sale of specially-made bracelets.
Organised under the philanthropic mission of the Robert Mouawad Foundation, Mouawad’s global ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative sees each purchase of a custom designed bracelet making a difference in a child’s life. Part proceeds of each bracelet are donated to Qatar Charity (QC), with the sole focus of advancing children’s education and upbringing. Through this initiative, Mouawad also joins hands with the Robert Mouawad Foundation with the promise of making a lifelong difference to children in need.
Featuring a simple yet contemporary design, the bracelets are crafted with 18-karat rose gold and leather, and are presently available for sale at the Mouawad boutique in Lagoona Mall, Doha.
“Mouawad is committed to making a lasting contribution to the communities where it operates, and we are pleased to have this initiative launched in Qatar. The bracelets designed for the ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative are made with the intention of taking action on behalf of children in need, while highlighting the spirit of goodwill. We are more than honoured to offer assistance and comfort to those who need it,” said Pascal Mouawad, Co-Guardian of Mouawad.
Meanwhile, Hamid Alaeddin Shehadeh, QC Community Partnership Director, welcomed the ‘Hand in Hand’ initiative, stressing that providing care and education to underprivileged children was at the core of Qatar Charity’s humanitarian and developmental work in Qatar and abroad. Shehadeh also pointed out that Qatar Charity was determined on further pursuing such collaborations with private and public institutions in order to achieve its humanitarian goals.
For over 126 years, Mouawad has been creating exceptional moments that are forever cherished as lifetime memories. Making a thoughtful and beautiful gift for a loved one, the bracelets stylishly express the art of giving in a compassionate fashion.
Mouawad has been honoured by the Guinness World Records four times, the most recent of which being for the most valuable necklace in the world, featuring the world’s largest internally flawless diamond. In 2010, 2003 and 1990 Guinness awarded Mouawad for creating the most valuable handbag in the world, the most luxurious and expensive piece of lingerie and the most expensive single pear-shaped diamond in the world respectively.
