DOHA: A workshop on play-therapy for children was organised by the Social Rehabilitation Center (Al Aween) recently.
Play-therapy is a technique in which different types of the games are used to interact with children in a bid to know the problems they face and cannot express, said a physiologist, Dr Daliya Momin, at the workshop.
“We can know the disturbed behaviour of the children directly while they are playing without the help of their parents or guardians”, Al Sharq reported on Thursday. Play therapy is generally employed with children aged three to 11-years old and provides a way for them to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided and self-healing process.
As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others. The Peninsula
