Doha: The Next Generation School celebrated World Teachers’ Day on Monday at Sapphire Plaza Hotel, honouring the dedication and commitment of teachers. ‘Empowering teachers to build sustainable societies’ was the topic discussed.
Dr Saif ul Hajari, Founder and Chairman, Friends of Environment Centre, Qatar Foundation, was Chief Guest, with Rashid Nizam, Community Welfare Attache, and Anas Kaseem Al Onazi, Director PR and Communications, Qatar Heritage and Cultural Identity, were Guests of Honour.
Students of Year VIII hosted a Naat show. A seminar was held and addressed by First Guest Speaker Ahmed Hussain who said professional development should be a continuous process in grooming knowledge.
He said empowering teachers with proper resources can lead to a better tomorrow. “When teachers transmit energy and students are engaged in classrooms, the learning process is visible.” He said Parent Teacher Association in schools can play a major role in facilitating the progress of teachers.
Other speakers include Badar Sohail Khan, Founder, Sohni Dahrti (organization of Oil & Gas Pakistanis), Professional Speaker Forum Qatar, Ewart Munday, President, Cambridge International Education Centre (CIEC) and Director, Learning Solutions, Wyboston Lakes Academy and Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, one of the founding directors of TNG.
