Doha: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed recently between Police Training Institute (PTI) of the Ministry of Interior and Customs General Authority of Ministry of Economy and Finance.
PTI Director, Brig Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Mahanna Al Marri and the Director of Customs Support Department Saleh Nasser Al Yazidi, signed the MoU. The Assistant Director of the institute Col Ali Abdullah Al Mansouri, PTI section heads, Assistant Director of Customs Support Department Mohammed Jabr Al Nuaimi, head of Human Resources Section at Customs Jabr Ali Al Sulaiti and training specialist Hamad Khalif Al Kubaisi attended the ceremony.
The PTI director said that the MoU will serve both sides in the training and scientific field. He stressed that the Institute will do the maximum even if it is not included in the agreement in the form of courses and researches.
Saleh Nasser Al Yazidi appreciated the efforts of the Institute in training and qualifying security personnel and emphasised that the sincere intention of both sides will deliver the objectives of the MoU.
The memorandum aims to achieve a set of objectives including the implementation of training programs and courses, scientific research, raise the efficiency, capacity and skills of Customs’ staff in preventing or combating crime in all its forms, strengthen mechanisms to combat smuggling crimes, raise the level of culture awareness and sense of security among workers, achievement of joint cooperation in the exchange of experts and specialists, exchange of visits, publications and research studies that serve common interest and the invitation to participate in conferences, seminars and relevant workshops.
