Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) launched 24-hour urgent care services at Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Health Center.
The health center, one of 27 across the country and ten in the region, will provide care for patients between 11 pm and 7 am, for non-threatening medical needs, such as: minor burns, sprains, severe headache or earache, dehydration, and dizziness.
The urgent care center will be led by a doctor and nurse teams, supported by Pharmacy and x-ray service.
Dr Hayam Ali Al Sada, Director of the Western Region of PHCC said, "People want the security of knowing the consistent health care is available in their community, and the urgent care service in Abu Baker Siddiq Health Center will play a critical role in delivering that care, as-and-when patients need it."
The Health Center currently serves a registered population of 78,000 patients. It offers a range of family medicines services; such as general medicine, well-baby, and periodic immunization, non-communicable disease, antenatal and postnatal care, well women services and school health.
Abu Baker Siddiq Health Center manager, Dr Eiman Awad AlSaadi AlYafei commented, "Our urgent care service will help connect more people in Al Ghanim Al Jadeed, Bu Sidra and Fareej Al Murra, with the healthcare they need. We will provide patients with a comprehensive service, delivered by a team specialized in handling a range of urgent healthcare issues."
PHCC also provides 24-hour urgent care service at Rawdat Al Khail, Al Gharafa, Al Kaaban, Al Shahaniyah, and Al Shamal Health Centers. Other 24-hour urgent care health centers are expected to open in the next 12 months.
