Doha: Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie launches yesterday the book of the Executive Report of the Agricultural Census in Qatar for the year 2021, which was completed in cooperation between the Ministry and Qatar University represented by the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute.

The executive report book presents the results set for the second agricultural census project for the year 2020-2021, the objectives and justifications of the agricultural census (vegetable - animal), the methodology that was followed in the implementation of the census, the stages of field and office work for data processing and analysis, quality procedures for field operations, and the most important agricultural results and indicators for plant and animal.

The agricultural census project, which was completed under the supervision of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, is considered one of the most important statistical projects in the regional and international arena, as it is one of the main pillars of the planning process and building agricultural strategies in both its plant and animal parts.

In his opening speech to the book, the Minister expressed his hope that the final results of the agricultural census would provide basic data for planners, policy-makers and decision-makers in their different locations, as well as scientific material for researchers and those interested in agricultural studies, and to be a positive qualitative leap in the available agricultural data and statistics, and to increase the accuracy of the estimates resulting from future surveys and statistical programmes that are based on the results of this census.
