Dignitaries during the online event held to celerbate Chartered Accountants Day.
Doha: The Doha Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated ‘Chartered Accountants Day’ on July 4, in presence of dignitaries. The event was organized on virtual platform, saw more than 125 participants from Doha & many other countries. CA Vignesh Kalyanaraman, chapter secretary opened the event while also introducing CA Nirlep Bhatt, Chapter Chairperson. In opening remarks, CA Nirlep Bhatt welcomed the audience & extended warm greetings to everyone on Chartered Accountants Day. CA Nirlep Bhatt also introduced the Chief Guest & Guests of Honour of the evening.
The Chief Guest of the event was the prominent luminary CA Suresh Prabhu - Hon’ble Member of Parliament of India, who has done proud to the profession.
CA Suresh Prabhu highlighted the noteworthy role of the Chartered Accountants in Qatar & appreciated their remarkable contribution since nearly 4 decades. He inspired the audience to identify new avenues where they can contribute to the global economy. While emphasizing on the robustness of Qatari Economy, CA Suresh Prabhu motivated & enlightened the audience about how chartered accountants can add value to the increasingly inter-connected world & opined that the Chartered Accountants, with their business sense & commercial acumen can play a huge role in reviving the global economy post covid-19.
The Guest of Honour was H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to State of Qatar, extended his warm greetings, lauded the contribution of the Chartered Accountants as Partners in Nation Building. He also emphasized about the integrity & independence that the profession carries and mentioned that CAs are looked upon with great respect by the Qatari business owners. While underscoring the significant contribution of CAs, His Excellency also appreciated the role played by CAs in positively influencing business eco system in Qatar. Recently signed MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between ICAI & QFC will pave a way to further strengthen the deep-rooted relation between Qatar & India and will open up the new opportunities for the business owners & professionals.
CA Mahaveer Singhvi, IFS, Joint Secretary Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India who was another Guest of honour to grace the occasion in which he mentioned that the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 came into force even before the constitution of India and appealed all the Chartered Accountants to work closely with the Embassy of India and keep on making the positive contribution to profession & society at a large.
CA Ankit Agarwal, Vice Chairman introduced the first speaker, Central Council Member of ICAI CA Aniket Talati. CA Aniket briefly explained recently initiated drive on “financial & Tax literacy” by CAs. He gave an insightful presentation on the Code of Ethics, which have been amended recently in line with the dynamic business scenario. CA Aniket explained the amendments applicable for the members abroad, with relevant examples & case studies in an impactful manner.
CA Kamlesh Tibrewal, Treasurer introduced the Second speaker CA Himanshu Bakshi who spoke on “Aspire to inspire before you Expire”. CA Himanshu Bakshi, spoke about his life struggle and how he overcame all the obstacles in his life and achieved some of the outstanding laurels. Citing his own example, he inspired everyone to not surrender to the difficulties or obstacles, but defy the same with an insurmountable will power. He engaged the audience throughout the session with his motivational address.
CA Kishore Alex, Excom member proposed the Vote of Thanks by offering sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour for their gracious presence and addresses. CA Kishore also deeply thanked Speakers, Sponsors & Chapter Members.
