Rome: Three people have been confirmed dead and five others are still missing as a five-storey apartment building has partially collapsed near Naples in Italy.
Firefighters said they have found three bodies in the rubble of the building, adding that five people are still missing.
Media reports said that rescue crews were digging mostly by hand to search for the missing people.
Italy's news agency (ANSA) quoted witnesses as saying that there was no explosion before the collapse, but that a train had just passed by on adjacent train tracks.
Local authorities began investigating the cause of the incident, while primary evidence pointed to renovation works that were taking place on the lower floors of the building.
