DOHA: A well-known Indian expatriate has come forward to help the mother of a rape victim in the Southern state of Kerala.
Dr K T Rabeeullah, Chairman, Naseem Al Rabeeh Healthcare Group, and Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, has offered Rs3 lakh and a land of five cents to the mother.
Law student Jisha was brutally raped and killed recently at her house in Perumbavoor and the incident shocked many. “The incident gives us the same shock as the Delhi Nirbhaya rape which happened in 2012. The victim and her mother who is financially weak, were living in a small one-bedroom house on a wasteland (Purambokku),” said Dr Rabeeullah yesterday. “Her dream was to achieve a degree in law and build a house for her family. Unfortunately, her dream ended with her death,” he added. The Groups have decided to build a house for Jisha’s mother. Group representatives will visit the mother to hand over money and land.
