Mental Support Service launched to assist Qatar residents deal with COVID-19 anxiety

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation launched the Mental Health Support Service through national helpline to assist people with anxiety and stress as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic. 

The helpline number 16000 will have mental health professionals from 7am to 10pm daily to provide support for people experiencing stress and anxiety due to coronavirus pandemic. 

The helpline is staffed by a team of professionals, who can provide assessment and support to callers through four main categories: 

1. Children and parents 
2. Older people 
3. Adults
4. Healthcare workers  

On contacting the helpline, residents can select the language, and then select option 3 for HMC and option 1 for HMC urgent consultation.
