Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said that it will implement a temporary closure on part of the northbound lane of East Industrial Street leading to Doha, for a distance of 250 metres, as shown in the attached map. The closure which will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Department, will start on Thursday February 11, 2016, and will last six months.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of East Industrial Street will be diverted to the opposite side of the road (southbound lane), which was divided to contain both directions (to and from Doha city), with one lane in each direction. The diversion will have minimal impact on traffic flow and vehicles will still have full access to all properties.
This diversion is required to start the construction works of the East West Corridor Interchange with Al Aziziya Street Extension as part of the East West Corridor Expressway project.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
