Doha, Qatar: The second day of the Qatar International Table Tennis Championships, the 31st edition of the WTT Champions Doha 2026, took place today at the Lusail Hall in the men's and women's singles categories. The competition will conclude on Jan. 11.
The competition sees some of the world's best players take part, led by World no. 2 Lin Shidong for men and World no. 2 for women, Manyu Wang.
One of the shocks of the competition so far was the elimination of World Champion Hugo Calderano from the round of the 32 at the hands of Dmitrij Ovtcharov.
World No. 4 Tomokazu Harimoto defeated China's Xiang Peng to set up a clash with Zhou Qihao in the last 16.
In the women's category, Manyu Wang defeated Satsuki Odo to reach the last 16. Man Kuai and Yidi Wang, World no. 3 and 5, respectively, also reached the last 16. World No. 9 Mima Ito was another early shock exit, after losing to her Japanese compatriot Miyu Nagasaki.
