Doha: Qatar and the government of Cote d'Ivoire signed, at the headquarters of the General Tax Authority (GTA), an agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent financial evasion regarding income taxes between the governments of the two countries.
The agreement was signed by President of the General Tax Authority H E Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi and Ambassador of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire to Qatar H E Dr. Abdul Karim Cisse.
The agreement aims to eliminate double taxation between the governments of both countries and encourage trade exchange, in addition to increase investment opportunities between the two countries through individuals and companies, and strengthen international standards of transparency through the exchange of financial and tax information.
