Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday directed to allot a plot of land inside Education City to Saudi Arabia to establish an academic project that will contribute to diverse knowledge enrichment.
During a visit to the Education City on Monday, H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation (QF), briefed Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on the achievements of Qatar Foundation, its scientific and research contributions at the local, regional and international levels. She also gave an explanation on universities and the specialisations at Education City.
In the presence of the Emir, Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani hosted a dinner banquet at Al Shaqab in honour of King Salman and the accompanying delegation .
A Taramul show, which is an authentic Qatari heritage related to horses and war, was performed at the outset of the ceremony. Poets Shabib bin Arar Al Nuaimi, Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Attiyah and Saleh Al Manaa presented poems to welcome King Salman expressing the depth of historic ties between the two fraternal countries.
The Emir also presented international award winning authentic Arab horses from Al Shaqab as a gift to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Emir, attended the ceremony along with Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, H E Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, sons of the Father Emir and a number of members of the ruling family and ministers.
From the Saudi side, HRH Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid bin Mohammed Al Saud, Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and a number of princes and ministers and members of the accompanying delegation attended the ceremony.
The Emir yesterday hosted a luncheon banquet at Al Bahr Palace in honour of King Salman.
The banquet was attended by the Personal Representative of the Emir H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and sons of the Father Emir. From the Saudi side, Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, attended the luncheon banquet along with Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid bin Mohammed Al Saud, Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a number of ministers and members of the accompanying delegation.
