Loyola International School celebrates Kerala Pairavi Day

Doha: Malayalam Department at Loyola International School (LIS) has celebrated Kerala ‘Piravi’ with zeal and enthusiasm. 

Piravi in Malayalam means birth. November 1, 2021 marks the 65th formation day of Kerala, one of the states of India.

Students and teachers came dressed in the traditional attire of Kerala setting the mood for the activities and the day ahead. 

The department brought Kerala into a room with the charts and pictures of Kerala Piravi celebrations, floral decorations, balloons, charts and various other decorations in the presence of honourable guests, LIS Director Sarath Koduru; LIS Coordinators, Biby Mytheen and Shazia. 

The programme kicked off with a warm welcome speech from Head of the Department of Malayalam, Geetha Suryan, followed by melodious welcome song by Grade 3 students. 

The programme paved the way to remember and honour their mother tongue and mother land. Meghana enlightened the mass about the importance of the day. Students of the school celebrated and exhibited their joy through dances, storytelling, folk song, group dance, group song, poems and quiz. Gayathri concluded the celebrations with a vote of thanks. 

The cultural fiesta was all in the air in the campus the whole day.
