DOHA: Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani issued a ministerial decision regulating the hunting season for certain birds and wild animals.
The decision of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change No. 15 of 2022 stipulates that the season for hunting for migratory birds (Turtle Dove) will be from September 1, 2022 to February 15, 2023 only, while hunting bustards will be by falcons only.
The use or exchange of non-traditional hunting tools and means, particularly the electronic bird caller "Sawayat" is prohibited.

Meanwhile, the rabbit hunting season will be from December 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023 only, and it should be hunted by falcons and hunting dogs only.
The decision also stipulates that the hunting or sale of any of the birds or other wild animals, included in the list of prohibited animal species of birds, mammals and reptiles, is prohibited throughout the year.
Hunting of all kinds is also prohibited in nature reserves and islands, and within the boundaries of cities, villages and public parks, as well as inside private property and farms, except with the permission from the owners and rights holders.
