Doha: Science India Forum (SIF) under the patronage of Indian Embassy in Qatar, recently conducted a webinar training on May 27, 2022 for the Guide Teachers who are mentoring the science projects for National Children Science Congress.

During the opening session, SIF Qatar President elaborated the importance of the Children Science Congress.

NCSC is an ideal and innovative programme for children to inspire, empower and expand their minds to the scientific research. It carries the spirit and mandate of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) of Unesco , Right to Education (RTE, 2009) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF, 2005). Since 2015, SIF Qatar is conducting this program, based on various the theme and sub-themes.

The event was attended by more than 250 teachers across the gulf region namely Qatar, KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. They will guide the students for the Science projects in their respective schools and communities.

The webinar was conducted by an eminent academician Dr. Hemant Pande, a master trainer and mentor for various competitive exams like NCSC, INSPIRE, IRIS, ISEF, OLYMPIADS and NTSE. He shared his experience thereby guiding the participating teachers on how a simple idea gets converted into a science Project and finally to a Product.

He emphasised that there is a greater role of teachers to encourage students to develop an idea and help them to turn into a big project and eventually to a product. Dr. Hemant shared some interesting projects taken up by his students that were recognized both at National and at International levels.

Dr. Pande emphasised that guide teacher should help students to get an idea all by themselves and then they should help them to develop that idea further in science project.

He also advised on how to monitor the project effectively with internal assessment and to make it a winning project.

The special guest on the occasion was Hassan Kunhi and Syed Shaukat Ali, the Director and Principal of Ideal Indian School who enlightened the audience with their inspiring talk on science projects. SIF Qatar thanked all the professionals, teachers, mentors, and all attendees for making this event very successful.
