Doha: Ooredoo has introduced new scratch cards for its Ooredoo Passport service to ensure customers can top up as much roaming data and minute allowance as they need. The card works with Shahry and Hala.
With the new cards, customers can pre-purchase and top up their passport with data and call time. As multiple cards can be activated at the same time, customers can now enjoy more roaming allowance within a week.
Customers can either combine the cards with existing Passport Pack or use them separately so that there is more accessibility and convenience for those who want to access roaming services on the go. The cards can also be given as gifts so that family members and friends can stay in touch around the world.
Based on customer feedback, Ooredoo is continuing to upgrade its roaming services, as more and more people look to stay connected and online, when they travel abroad for business and leisure.
Ooredoo was the first operator in Qatar and the first company in the Ooredoo Group to offer 4G roaming services.
Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director, Community & Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “The new card will give our customers more control over their roaming services, enabling them to top up as much roaming data and minutes as they need easily, when they travel abroad. “It’s the latest in a series of enhancements to our roaming services, which enable our customers to enjoy bigger, faster networks even when they’re outside Qatar.”
When they use the card, customers get 100 roaming minutes for receiving and making calls and 1GB of roaming mobile data for QR100, when they use Passport Partner networks in more than 65 countries.
Customers can use 1GB data allowance also on Ooredoo’s bigger and faster 4G roaming network.
As an added bonus, customers travelling in the GCC get additional 1GB of data in their allowance at no cost. The card allowance is valid for seven days.
Customers can take a spare card to top up while in Qatar or abroad. To activate or top up Ooredoo Passport allowance, customers can scratch the back of the card, reveal the voucher code and send it via SMS to ‘127’, or scan a QR code in Ooredoo Application. Roaming allowances will be instantly credited to the customer’s account.
Passport cards are available at Ooredoo shops and authorised dealers across the country. Customers can check their Passport card balance by sending SMS ‘Balance OPC’ to ‘114’.
Users can activate the standard Ooredoo Passport Pack via Ooredoo App, or SMS by sending ‘OP’ to 114 for Shahry customers and ‘OP’ to 121 for Hala customers. The Peninsula
