Greetings sent to Swedish king

Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulation to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on his country’s National Day. 
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a congratulatory cable to the Swedish king.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable to King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Condolences offered to Biden


Delaware: H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday conveyed condolences of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to US Vice-President Joe Biden on the death of his son Beau during his funeral in Delaware .

\Qatar attends FAO conference

Rome: Qatar took part in the 39th session of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) conference, which opened yesterday and runs until June 13.
Minister of Environment 
H E Ahmed Amer Mohamed Al Humaidi is leading Qatar’s delegation that includes Qatari Ambassador to Italy and permanent representative to UN organisations in Rome, Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki Al Jehani.
The biennial forum will discuss issues, including food status, agriculture, markets for food commodities, global food security, FAO-related Millennium Development Goals and FAO policies and organisational issues.
It will endorse the re-election of FAO director-general for a second four-year term.

Minister issues decisions


Doha: Minister of Youth and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali has issued seven ministerial decisions in relation to the boards of several youth centres.
The decisions included extending the term of Qatar Youth Hostels Association, forming the board of Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activities and assigning directors for Al Dhakira Youth Centre, Al Jamiliya Youth Centre, Qatar Scuba Centre, and Qatar Centre for Wireless Sports. One decision ratified the statute of Al Jamiliya Youth Centre.
