Qatar, Tunisia review cooperation in sports

Doha: The Secretary-General of Qatar Olympic Committee H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani yesterday met the Tunisian Minister of Youth and Sport, Sabir Abu Atti.
He praised coordination and cooperation between athletes in both countries for many seasons in all sports and games.
Both sides underlined the need for bolstering cooperation to meet common aspirations and benefit from two countries’ experiences in organising local and global championships.
 Atti hailed Qatar’s achievements in the field of sport and its advanced facilities.
He also praised Qatar’s National Sports Day which has witnessed a record participation of various age groups and segments of Qatari society and resident communities.
Atti was briefed on successes of the previous seven editions of the School Olympics Programme and the increase in the number of participants in the field of sports, especially talented people.
They also reviewed cooperation in the field of anti-doping, in view of the success achieved by Tunisia’s Anti-Doping International Laboratory and Qatar’s Anti-Doping Laboratory.
They agreed to take advantage of Qatar Olympic Sports Academy in preparation of qualified athletes and to improve functions of clubs and schools with the help of professional advisers and experts.
