Doha: The online shopping platform “Turkish Souq” was launched in Turkish capital Ankara yesterday with a new universal look and feel in the context of efforts to enhance trade cooperation between Ankara and Doha.

The event was attended by Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu; Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Post, Faleh Al Naemi, who represented the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) of Qatar; and Turkey Post PTT (Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı) Corporation Director-General Hakan Gülten.

During the trial launch, several online purchases were made through the platform from over 50 countries. Demand on the service is expected to grow from around the world during the coming weeks and as marketing begins.

The “Turkish Souq” is a modern platform for e-commerce for Turkish commodities and products.

Costumers are now able to buy high-quality Turkish products anywhere in the world with home delivery in Doha via Qatar Post.

The platform is owned equally between Qatar Post and PTT. It was first made available for customers in Qatar in January 2018 and now it goes global.
