DOHA: Sidra Medical and Research Centre has appointed Dr Istvan Seri (pictured) as Division Chief of Neonatology, Director of the Neonatology Centre of Excellence and Vice Chair of Faculty Development in the Department of Paediatrics.
Dr Seri will report to Clinical Chief for Paediatrics, Dr Ziyad Hijazi, and hold a full-time faculty appointment with Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
At Sidra, Dr Seri will provide strategic medical direction and leadership of the Neonatal Centre of Excellence and the Neonatal and Perinatal Programme to ensure a patient- and family-focused and service-oriented environment, using a multidisciplinary approach along with state-of-the-art educational and research activities.
Dr Seri served as Professor of Paediatrics at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California and Director of Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
