24th Gulf Engineering Forum kicks off today

Doha: Under the auspices of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, 24th Gulf Engineering Forum will start today.

The forum titled “Environmental Engineering and Sustainability” will be hosted by Qatar from March 7 to 9, 2023, at the Sheraton Hotel.

Organised by the Ministry of Municipality, the Gulf Engineering Union and the Qatar Society of Engineers, the activities of the forum are held over three days, and include 5 discussion sessions with the participation of elite speakers from Qatar and other Gulf countries.

In addition, 25 working papers were selected to be presented during the days of the forum, as they deal with four themes: “technology and smart cities, sustainable building materials, efficient management of buildings and cities, and waste management and recycling.”

The forum will also be accompanied by an engineering exhibition specialised in the environment and sustainability, in which 20 exhibitors from governmental and semi-governmental agencies and the private sector from Qatar and the Gulf countries will participate.

In addition to distinguished participation from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, in order to present the most prominent ideas, projects and engineering services in the field of environment and sustainability. The forum will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Gulf Engineering Union.

The Supreme Council of the Gulf Engineering Union convened yesterday on the sidelines of the 24th Gulf Engineering Forum and the “Environmental Engineering and Sustainability” conference and exhibition.

They discussed many topics, legislation and engineering laws of interest to the union in the next stage. The most important of which is the development of the Gulf engineer, in addition to discussing engineering legislation and engineering work ethics.
