DOHA: Kerala Women’s Initiative Qatar (KWIQ), involved in community service activities, organised “Health is Wealth” Day, primarily focusing on female support staff and domestic helpers in Qatar, at the GEMS American Academy premises.

KWIQ’s objective behind this initiative was to stress the importance of Health and Fitness amongst the blue collar female workers and spread the feeling of hope and happiness amongst them.
This event drew a good crowd of mixed nationalities mainly from India, Nepal and The Philippines. Many expatriate ladies with their children also participated actively in the sports event. “We enjoyed our day off from work. We feel so fresh and happy”, said one of female support staff working at a school.

Chief Guest of the event, Ritu Kumaran, wife of P Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar,  along with the event sponsors, applauded the efforts of KWIQ. Mala Krishnan, Coordinator for ICBF (Indian Embassy), hugely contributed with her continuous and unwavering support.
