Action from the seventh Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi the Challenge), at Sealine.

DOHA:  The seventh Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi the Challenge) continued yesterday with two groups of participants competing in the Free Da’u competition, one of the exciting categories in which falcons compete in speed.
With a similar competitive atmosphere to the Hadad El Tahadi competition held earlier this week, Free Da’u witnessed a thrilling competition as every fraction of a second counts. A sensor is installed to measure the falcon’s speed within a distance of 400 metres from the starting point till the spot where it lands.
Mohammed bin Abdulatif Al Missned, the vice president of Marmi festival and deputy chairperson of Al Gannas society, announced that five cars will be awarded to the second place winners of the local and international Da’u competitions this year.
Held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the Festival started on Monday at Sealine and will continue till the end of this month. The festival was launched with the aim of preserving the heritage of Qatari ancestors. The Peninsula
