Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks began Monday with losses, while Shanghai opened flat.
The Hang Seng Index shed 1.05 percent, or 299.36 points, in the opening minutes of trading, to 28,304.25.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dipped slightly 0.06 percent, or 2.05 points, to 3,369.69, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.02 percent, or 0.39 points, to 1,976.31.
