DOHA: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will introduce the patient triaging system at Al Daayen Health Center from November 19.  Al Daayen is the fourth health centre to have this system that classifies patients based on their health condition.
Patient triaging was earlier implemented in Abu Nakhla , Al Gharafa and Omar Bin Khattab health centres and will be extended to all health centres in a phased manner. The aim of the classification system is to detect the urgent cases and to ensure that patients are treated depending on their clinical needs. Consequently, patients with an urgent situation will be attended by a physician as a priority rather than waiting with other patients. On the other hand, patients with non-urgent situations may make an appointment for the next day. The system will help reduce the waiting time and crowding at the health centres and improve the quality of services provided, said a PHCC statement yesterday.
