DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) has been voted Best Middle Eastern Airline for the 10th consecutive year at the 26th Annual TTG Travel Awards.
The latest win seals a decade of success for QA at the awards, organised by one of the most respected trade magazines in the Asia Pacific region.
Readers based their voting on the strength of QA’s customer service, route network, services, innovation marketing and advertising programmes and initiatives.
QA Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “To retain the accolade for 10 consecutive years is a tremendous achievement — it speaks volumes about the commitment and quality of the entire QA team who work tirelessly to provide unforgettable in-flight experiences for our passengers.
“We take pride in offering our passengers best-in-class hospitality whenever they fly with us and are delighted that our efforts have paid off.”
QA Southeast Asia, Southwest Pacific Senior Vice-President Marwan Koleilat accepted the award on behalf of the airline in Bangkok, Thailand.
Koleilat: “We would like to thank our travel partners in Asia Pacific for the recognition and their vote of confidence and unwavering support over the past decade. Asia Pacific continues to be one of our key priority markets and we remain dedicated to delivering excellent service and product our passengers have come to expect from QA.”
Asia-based passengers have much to look forward to: From more new and exciting destinations in QA’s expanding global network to more opportunities to try the Airline of the Year’s award-winning hospitality and services on routes such as Manila and Jakarta which have seen recent flight frequency increases.
Testament to Asia’s importance to QA, the carrier became the first to operate the world’s newest aircraft — the A350 — to Singapore and Asia Pacific region on May 11 this year. Other destinations where Asia-based passengers can look forward to experiencing unprecedented levels of comfort on A350 aircraft include Frankfurt and Munich, and Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston from next year.
QA has seen rapid growth in 18 years of operation and flies a modern fleet of 166 aircraft to 152 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
At this year’s Skytrax Awards, QA was named Airline of the Year, Best Business Class Airline Seat and Best Airline in the Middle East.
