Al Wakra Municipality and Al Wakra Sports Club conclude summer events

Doha, Qatar: Al Wakra Municipality has concluded its summer programme in cooperation with Al Wakra Sports Club which were a part of a series of awareness workshops and field visits that contributed to strengthening community partnership.

The workshop, which was presented by Eng. Moaz Al Ali at Al Meera (Al Wakra branch), aimed at providing the trainees with the ability to identify healthy vegetables and fruits, how to preserve and store them properly, and the damages resulting from improper storage, in addition to introducing the trainees to diseases that affect vegetables and fruits and the importance of vegetables, fruits in our daily life.

The workshop dealt with a number of main axes, which began with a theoretical explanation of the importance of vegetables and fruits and the method of transportation from the time of receipt until they are offered to the consumers. The trainees were also introduced on how to inspect and examine the existing vegetables and fruits to ensure the safety of the supply, in addition to giving them a training to distinguish between healthy and unfit ones.

The summer events programme included the organization of the first workshop, on July 25, on (Basics of Engineering Drawing), which was presented by Eng. Sarah Ahmed and Alaa Azhari at the Al Wakra Sports Club headquarters, which dealt with introducing the basic concepts of engineering drawing, how to read architectural maps in a simplified way, and engaging the trainees.

Also in drawing three-dimensional projections and building the model within a team.

The second workshop dealt with the basics of preserving and storing foodstuffs, which was presented by Eng. Ahmed Noureddin, during which two field visits were organised to two food establishments, with the aim of providing the trainees with the ability to identify the requirements for preserving foodstuffs, and the requirements for stores according to the type of foodstuffs and others.

The Summer Events and Participation Programme, which was launched by Al Wakra Municipality on July 25, aims to invest in leisure time of youth groups, develop their abilities, refine their skills, and increase their knowledge and practical experience by adopting positive health practices.
