Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) celebrated its annual day with grandeur on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Ashoka Hall of Indian cultural Centre. Indian Ambassador to Qatar Dr Deepak Mittal presided over the function as Chief Guest. Other invitees included President of ICC Baburajan, Vice President of ICC Subramanya Hebbagelu, former presidents of KSQ and advisory committee members VS Mannangi, Deepak Shetty and HK Madhu.
The event started by lighting a lamp and KSQ management committee members singing “hacchevu kannadada deepa” penned by D S Karki.
The host for the event was Susheela Sunil, Secretary for Women, KSQ. KSQ Annual souvenir “Srigandha-2021” was unveiled by the Chief Guest and all the delegates.
Kannada teachers Pradeep Kumar Dileep, Ypgesh Pai, Vasanta Kumar and Kalavathy Shetty were felicitated on this occasion for their service of teaching Kannada to children every Friday morning.
The evening was filled with various entertainment programmes starting with a classical welcome song followed by a folk song, a skit on awareness of girl child and abolishing female foeticide and finally concluding with a tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar by a medley dance performance by children.
