QSL officials laud Al Sadd’s Falcon Shield winning performance

Doha: A host of officials from Qatar Stars League have congratulated the newly crowned QNB Stars League winners Al Sadd on their achievement.

Leading the front was Hani Taleb Ballan, the CEO of Qatar Stars League (QSL), who congratulated the Board of Directors of Al Sadd club on the occasion of their triumph in the 2018-19 season  following their victory over Al Ahli in Week 21 at the Al Sadd Stadium on Thursday.

Al Sadd defeated Al Ahli 7-2 in their Week 21 match to take an unassailable lead and regain the league shield.

“On behalf of all members and staff of the QSL, I congratulate the Al Sadd Club, players, technical and administrative staff as well as fans on showing excellence in the championship. The results and achievements by Al Sadd prove they fully deserved to be crowned,” said Hani. 

He also praised Al Duhail, who were strong contenders for the title and exhibited a high level throughout the season.

Also congratulating Al Sadd was Ahmed Khellil Abbassi, Executive Director of Competition and Football Development (Acting) at the QSL. 

Abbassi hailed Al Sadd on the occasion of winning this season’s league competition after showing excellent levels. He wished them further success in domestic and other competitions, such as the AFC Champions League.

“The contest to win the league shield was strong and fierce between Al Sadd and Al Duhail, especially in the recent weeks where everyone saw a high level of competition between the stars of two clubs. The fight will continue to the final round between teams to determine their positions,” he said.

The official pointed out that all teams were striving to achieve their goals during the season. 

“We very much value our partnership with the clubs and their co-operation with us, which contributed towards the success of QNB Stars League season,” he added.

Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Communication at the QSL, opined Al Sadd deserved to win the title with a high level of performance, with one round yet to be played.

“I congratulate the management of Al Sadd club, players, technical staff and fans on this achievement and the deserved coronation, achieved after a long and tough season in which they showed a remarkable level,” said Hassan.

He wished Al Sadd and Qatar’s other teams success in this year’s AFC Champions League.

Abdulla Ali Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Operations at QSL, congratulated Al Sadd, their players, technical as well as administrative officials, fans and staff on winning the 2018-19 season of QSL.

He said Al Sadd were tough competitors this season and they displayed good technical levels en route to winning the league shield with one round of action remaining.

The official pointed out the fact that everyone was eagerly following the fierce competition between Al Sadd and Al Duhail, especially towards the end of the tournament, before the title was decided in Week 21 of the championship.
