In the recently held Indian Community Fest at Katara village, Qatar Mahe Sauhrida Sangamam (QMASS) enthralled the gathering at the Katara amphitheater with their power packed Kalari (martial arts) show fused with the rhythm of chendamelam (drum beats). Kalari, which is known as Kerala’s own ancient martial art show cased sword fight, bare hand fight, long stick fight etc. The bharathnatyam artistes Riya Jayaprakash, Thanushya and Nirushya gave traditional flavour to the episode with their melodious movements. The ten minutes show ended up with a live performance of “miley sur mera thumara”by the forum members, ladies and children holding the tricolor.
Another attraction was the QMASS-Doha Rocks food court where the visitors enjoyed delicious Thalissery chicken biriyani. “We wanted to make a difference in the ‘Passage to India’ show, and we did it,” said the forum President, Manmmadhan Mambally.
