Doha: Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Labour (MoL) held a training workshop for employees concerned with the implementation of Law No. 9 of 2022 regulating the right to obtain information (accessibility to information), promulgated on October 3, 2022.
The workshop was held with the aim of raising awareness among employees of what contributes to the implementation of the law and reaching a distinguished sector that enjoys efficiency and transparency without harming the interests of the state and its confidential information.
The workshop focused on the law’s definition of the right to obtain information and the mechanism for automatic dissemination of information, in addition to reviewing the legal period for responding to a request for access to information, and an explanation of the executive and organisational paths of the law, the reasons for rejecting the request when it is submitted, and who can request information.
The workshop concluded with the tasks and specialisations undertaken by departments related to the law with the aim of implementing the requirements of the law by creating an electronic mechanism to receive requests for the right to obtain information.
This is also for studying complaints and grievances through joint training with the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, and how to respond to requests related to the right to obtain information regulated in accordance with the law.
