Kenyan Minister invites Qatari businessmen to invest in Kenya

Doha: Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari met yesterday with Minister of Trade, Investment, and Industry of the Republic of Kenya H E Moses Kiarie Kuria and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the State of Qatar Boniface Nduva Mwilu.

During the meeting, both sides discussed means to enhance economic and commercial relations between both countries and reviewed the investment climate and opportunities available in Kenya and Qatar.For his part, the Kenyan Minister praised the close relations between his country and Qatar, expressing the hope that the upcoming period will witness more development in their commercial and economic cooperation. 

Kuria stressed his country’s desire to encourage Qatari investors to invest in Kenya, noting that it offers a host of opportunities in various sectors, such as food security, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, petrochemicals, and housing. H E called on Qatari investors to visit Kenya to get acquainted with the investment climate and opportunities it offers, as well as the incentives presented by the government, especially those in the economic zones in Mombasa.

H E Mohamed bin Twar affirmed that Qatar Chamber welcomes enhancing the cooperation between Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from Kenya.
